The New Student Orientation program is specifically designed for entering first-year students to help them examine and enhance their academic abilities, interests and educational plans before taking their first semester of classes in a college setting.  The value of this experience is fundamental to achieving a fast start at Penn State.

The Division of Undergraduate Studies is pleased to work with you as you prepare for your first semester as a Penn Stater!

Students complete initial orientation activities on-line and finish the activities on-campus, meeting with an academic adviser and others from Career Services, Financial Aid, and Student Affairs.   Again, all orientation programs are mandatory.

Once you accept your offer of admission to attend Penn State Greater Allegheny, you will receive an email directing you to our New Student Orientation web site.  We will use the email you provided on your admissions application.  Complete both the Educational Planning Survey (EPS) and your ALEKS math placement test within two weeks of receiving the email.

Beginning in May, provided you completed your EPS and math placement test, we will invite you to an on-campus academic advising event.  Advising events will take place in June and July.

To prepare for your on-campus advising event, you will need to complete the NSO homework assignments found on the right-side of this page.
