Human Rights and Democracy in South Asia
The first event for Teaching South Asia in Spring 2008 will feature Dr. Michael Goodhart, associate professor of political science at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Goodhart describes his research focus as "democracy and human rights, especially in the context of globalization" (http://www.pitt.edu/~goodhart/). In his presenttion, he will emphasize such recent situations as those in Pakistan, India, and Myanmar.
The talk will be on Thursday January 24 from 12:30 to 1:30 in the Ostermayer Room of the Student Community Center.
