Academics

We offer the quality of a nationally known university in a small campus setting, only 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Penn State Greater Allegheny attracts scholars and researchers who want to share their interests and enthusiasm with undergraduates.
Dr. Hough & studentsStudents can complete bachelor's degree or associate degree programs at Penn State Greater Allegheny, in addition to the first two years of study for nearly all of Penn State’s more than 160 bachelor's degrees, or pursue a credit or noncredit certificate.

Various summer programs such as Penn State credit courses, pre-college programs, and youth camps are offered at Penn State Greater Allegheny. High school students can get an edge on college credits as well as technology preparation.

Among the special academic opportunities at Penn State Greater Allegheny, there is an active Honors Program for students who wish to take advantage of academically enriching activities and classes. The campus also has an international emphasis, with a new global region as a focus each year. Service learning and civic engagement opportunities are a vital component of several courses at Penn State Greater Allegheny, in which learning is combined with community outreach. Many faculty also offer students opportunities to participate in undergraduate research.

Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
When classes are not in session, the office closes at 5:00 p.m.
