First-Year Students: Apply to Penn State Step 2

Several key components comprise a complete application. When you apply to Penn State, you will need to send us the following:
  • Your application (Web application preferred)
  • A $50 nonrefundable application fee
  • A completed counselor form along with an official copy of your high school transcript
  • SAT I or ACT scores (SAT code #2660 or ACT code #3656)
  • Official transcripts from other colleges attended and AP test scores, if applicable

If you have not already done so, please request that your SAT I or ACT test scores be sent directly to Penn State Undergraduate Admissions from the appropriate testing agency. It is not necessary to send test scores using the "rush" option.  Testing services send us scores electronically at the student's request on a nearly weekly basis.

In addition, you should have the following information available to include on your application:

  • Social Security number
  • SAT I and/or ACT Test date(s)
  • High school address and College Board code number
  • Immigrant visa information (if applicable)
  • U.S. military service information (if applicable)

Proceed to Step 3 to learn about the evaluation process.
