Two new credit options for adults students are available beginning March, 2011.
Classes will be delivered in our new state-of-the-art Video Learning Network (VLN) room using technology that integrates multiple Penn State Locations into one learning environment.
Course registration is limited to adult students. Penn State defines adult students as learners who may be 24 years of age or older; or a veteran of the armed services; or returning to school after four or more years of employment, homemaking, or other activity; or a person who assumes multiple adult roles such as parent, spouse/partner, employee, and student.
Labor Studies and Employment Relations
LER 201 (GS) - Employment Relationship: Law and Policy (3 credits). An examination of basic legal principles underlying the employment relationship and their social, political, and economic bases.
The course may benefit
- Human resource professionals in various industries and trade unions
- Individuals with little or no college who would like to begin a degree in Labor Studies and Employment Relations
- Adult students at Penn State who need to fulfill their social and behavioral science (GS) or other degree requirements (e.g., OLEAD's supporting and related courses)
Classes will be offered Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on March 24, 31, April 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2011.
Lean Sigma Integration and Professionals Series
WF ED 498C - Lean Sigma for Professionals (3 credits)
This course may benefit front line supervisors who would like to improve their literacy on Lean Sigma
Classes will be offered Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on March 16, 23, 30, April 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2011.
