Timely Warning--Police receive report of sexual assault: February 17, 2015

McKeesport, Pa. -- A Sexual Assault was reported to University Police on February 17, 2015 at 9:40 am. The reported assault occurred on February 15, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the first floor female side of McKeesport Hall. McKeesport Hall is located upper eastern portion of the Greater Allegheny Campus. The victim, a female student who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, reported a known male inappropriately touched her, attempting to force her to commit sexual acts.
The subject is described as a college-age male.
• Get verbal consent from your partner, and don't assume you know what the other person wants.
• Don’t feel obligated to do anything you don’t want to. “I don’t want to” is always a good enough reason.
• Perpetrators are responsible for sexual assaults. Perpetrators take advantage of vulnerability and seek opportunities to commit sexual assaults.
It can be assumed that conditions that continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated to the University of possible peril at the hands at some third party or parties.

The City of McKeesport Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 11:58 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 in Renziehausen Park, at the Jacob Wall Pavilion.
The McKeesport Police Department is currently seeking one male suspect who fled the scene on foot and is still at large. There is no other information available.
The Penn State Greater Allegheny Police Department urges everyone to use caution when encountering individuals who are not personally known to them and to stay aware of their surroundings at all times.
