Penn State Greater Allegheny is located in Allegheny County near Pittsburgh, just 15 minutes away from the exciting new Waterfront development. The campus is one of 24 Penn State locations throughout Pennsylvania. Our diverse student body of approximately 800 students has access to on- and off-campus housing, a friendly environment, free parking, public transportation, shopping and recreation, and active involvement in a wide range of academic, cultural, and athletic activities.
Students attending Penn State Greater Allegheny enjoy the benefits and resources of a major research university in an intimate setting. Students may choose to complete four-year degree programs on site, or they may begin their career at the campus before moving on to another Penn State location to complete one of the University’s 160 academic majors. The campus offers six bachelor’s degrees, as well as associate degrees and certificates. Students who wish to take advantage of research and academic enrichment opportunities may participate in our active Honors program. Day, evening, and online courses are available for the convenience of adult learners and working students, and the Office of Continuing Education offers certificate programs and customized programs for area businesses and organizations.
A visible sign of the campus' continued growth is a $5.5 million new Student Community Center located in the heart of the campus. The 25,000 square foot multi-use facility provides educational and cultural opportunities for students and residents of the region.
