Penn State Greater Allegheny opened its season with a 60-50 win over CCAC-Boyce. The Lady Lions struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, leading only 20-17 and shooting just 28%. They played much better in the second half and pulled away from Boyce with just under two minutes to play. Three players recorded double-doubles for PSUGA. Sophomore Chanelle Quallis (East Orange, NJ/Arts) led the team with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Freshmen Kelly Zogran (Pleasant Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson) added 15 points and 10 rebounds and Rachel Halaszynski (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
With the win, the Lady Lions are 1-0 overall. They will travel to play Westmoreland County Community College on Monday, November 17th. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
