Accolades Roll In for Lady Lions

The Penn State Greater Allegheny Lady Lions have been the recipients of a number of post-season awards.  Sophomore Chanelle Quallis (East Orange, NJ/ Arts) and Freshman Rachel Halaszynski (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) were selected to the PSUAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team.  Halaszynski was also voted PSUAC Newcomer of the Year.  Freshman Kelly Zogran (Pleasant Hills, PA/ Thomas Jefferson) was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.  Head Coach Craig Sonson was named PSUAC Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year.  The awards were voted on by the PSUAC coaches.

At the USCAA Banquet on Tuesday night, Quallis was named to the All-Academic Team.  In order to qualify, a student-athlete must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA.  Halaszynski was named All-American Honorable Mention.
