The New Student Orientation program is specifically designed for entering first-year students to help them examine and enhance their academic abilities, interests and educational plans before taking their first semester of classes in a college settiing. The value of this experience is fundamental to achieving a fast start at Penn State. New students are introduced to Penn State through two required programs.
The first session focuses on advising, careers, student life, and financial issues. Summer sessions for Fall admits are available in groups or individually. Spring session for Spring admits are scheduled individually.
The second session (Orientation Too!) occurs right before the semester begins.
Once you accept your offer of admission to attend Penn State Greater Allegheny, you will receive an email directing you to the university's New Student Orientation web site. Please follow the instructions to complete the survey and placement test.
Beginning in May, provided you completed your EPS and math placement test, we will invite you to an on-campus academic advising event. Advising events will take place in June and July.
Please go to The New Student Orientation Advising Program page for more details.
