TRANSPORTATION POLICY
URGENT EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
For ill or injured students whose condition requires specialized transport call 911. An ambulance with EMS support will respond as quickly as possible.
Campus police will receive and respond to the 911 call.
Call (412) 675-9490 to contact the campus nurse who will provide emergency support care until the ambulance arrives.
EXAMPLES OF URGENT CONDITIONS
1. Back or neck injury
2. Severe allergic reaction
3. Unconscious student
4. Psychological distress
NON-URGENT SITUATIONS
Injured or ill students with a minor problem and whose condition is highly unlikely to deteriorate prior to receiving medical attention
EXAMPLES OF SUCH CONDITIONS:
1. Sprains/strains
2. Lacerations without profuse bleeding
Call 412-675-9490….Nurse will arrange for Police Services, approved personnel, to transport the student to the local emergency department

If transportation is needed, student will need to arrange transportation with a friend, taxi, or via Port Authority transit bus service.

FEES AND BILLING
ON CAMPUS:
All professional services are free!
Charges for prescription medications and on-site laboratory testing are billed to the students’ account. Students are asked to read and sign the agreement of payment before it is submitted to the Business Office for processing. The “health service” charge will appear on the student’s next academic bill.
OFF CAMPUS:
Fees for hospital and/or psychological services, specialist consultations and off-site testing are charged, by that caregiver, to the student as a personal or health insurance charge.
